Solaris Urbino

Characteristic

The Solaris Urbino family consists of modern low floor city buses. Characteristic of the whole family is the sloping line of the front windshield, which distinctly identifies any Solaris city bus. It provides better visibility of the kerb on the right side of the vehicle and thus increases the safety of passengers waiting at bus stops. The Urbino family of low floor city buses is characterised by its modern design, durability, ease of maintenance and operation, accessibility and environmental-friendliness. All Solaris Urbino buses are made from stainless steel. Their full low floor design is a reinforced construction designed for use even in challenging road conditions and climates.

All Solaris Urbino buses are equipped with a kneeling function reducing the entrance height by c.a. 70 mm. A wheelchair ramp is also available, with either manual or electric operation. Depending on vehicle length, up to 183 passengers may be carried. The drive train of the Solaris Urbino is centred on modern, durable and economic diesel or compressed natural gas engines meeting latest European emissions standards.

The Solaris Urbino CNG, available in 12, 15 and 18-metre versions, offers compressed natural gas propulsion on urban buses. The technology reduces the emission of harmful substances by up to 85 %, in the case of particulate matter even by almost 100 % compared to traditional diesel engines. The Solaris Urbino CNG therefore meets even the most demanding environmental standards.

The Solaris Alpino is the smallest Solaris bus produced at a length of 8.6 metres and width of 2.4 metres. It was designed with narrow and twisting streets of small towns in mind, but it manages equally well in congested centres of large agglomerations. The Solaris Alpino is attractive, practical and friendly to passengers as well as the environment.
