Special Vehicles

Every bus manufacturer would be honored to receive an order for a special purpose bus. It is an acknowledgement of the experience in manufacturing vehicles and a sign of complete trust when it comes to creating a totally new, custom-designed product. Special buses are the highest level of initiation in the industry.

Solaris Bus & Coach attaches great importance to special purpose buses. We can be proud of our special purpose bus offer which is the largest in Poland. Several vehicles of this type have already left the premises of our factory, including Oribus - a beauty parlor manufactured for Oriflame, a bus adapted to the needs of the National Fire Brigade, or buses that carry passengers from terminals to aircrafts at airports. However, our specialty are blood donation vehicles manufactured on the basis of the Solaris Vacanza tourist coach We have already built six vehicles of this type!

They are in the service of blood donation centers in Katowice, Bydgoszcz, Warsaw and Poznań. In 2007 we received our first order from abroad - the first ambulance for export was sent to the Latvian capital city of Riga.

Mobile blood donation stations by Solaris reach the people who want to donate blood directly and, additionally, promote the idea of voluntary blood donation. Owing to our “bloodsuckers” regional blood donation and blood treatment centers reduced the number of stationary blood donation stations thus reducing the operating costs.

An equally significant direction in the development of special purpose buses sector are airport vehicles. This is yet another sector where our company can be proud of the greatest achievements in Poland. It was already in 1997 that we built our first buses for the F. Chopin Okęcie International Airport in Warsaw. There were more vehicles that followed. Similar buses carry German passengers from Reutlingen to the airport in Stuttgart or Czech passengers from their terminals to aircrafts. Our rich experience in building special purpose buses pays off. The Euro 2012 football championships are still ahead and so are the largest airport investments in the history of our country
