Urbino 12 Hybrid

Solaris has teamed up with experienced supplier Eaton to produce the Solaris Urbino 12 Hybrid. Its parallel hybrid system combines the power of a diesel engine with that of an electric motor. Energy is recuperated during braking and stored in special batteries, ready to be used again. The reduced fuel consumption means dramatically lower emissions, making the Solaris Urbino 12 Hybrid particularly eco-friendly. Furthermore, its diesel engine meets the demanding EEV emissions standard.

Operating costs are also reduced to make this bus extremely cost-effective to run. The intelligent control of the Urbino 12 Hybrid’s drive train ensures that for every operational situation the ideal mix of power is supplied by the two engines. The Solaris Urbino 12 Hybrid is fitted with an automatic start-stop system. When the bus is stationary and the diesel engine is not required, it automatically switches itself off.
